Steak Ingredients

As far as I can say about meat is its just meat. But I also believe that you are what you eat. For example:


I am not only a Chef I am a Hunter. I live in Minnesota and have hunted the whole state. One day up in northern Minnesota we were hunting and I was able to shoot a nice Doe. I hate gutting deer but I help. When we cut into the deer we got an odd odor that was somewhat similar to the smell of the swamps. (Northern Minnesota is a lot of state land that's mostly swamp.) The meat was fine and dinner that night was great.


On another hunt I was in Central Minnesota and shot a real nice Doe there too! Well as we were gutting it we noticed it didn't have the same smell as the one up north. Most of these deer are corn and apple fed. A big Difference that made. Boy that deer was a lot better than the other one.


So I am a firm believer in "You are what you eat!"


I also Have a good friend who is a butcher he says the only ingredient in meat is meat. Most beef cows are hey and grain fed.
